Rachel Johnson is the Preteen Pastor at Harvest. She is a native of Oregon, and grew up in Troutdale. She graduated from Reynolds High School before attending Hope International University in southern California. At Hope, she earned a Bachelor of Arts in Children and Family Ministry. Rachel moved back to Oregon after graduation and married her husband Jared. They became members of Harvest that same year. Rachel and Jared have two daughters: Callie and Evie. Rachel received her Masters from Fuller Theological Seminary this May, 2020.
Rachel has done a lot of work with Wi-Ne-Ma Christian Camp. She attended camps as a kid and started volunteering as a counselor when she was 14. Rachel met Jared at Wi-Ne-Ma in high school, and they both still return as counselors in the summertime.
It was through her work at Wi-Ne-Ma that Rachel discovered her love for teaching children about God, and made the decision to attend Hope. Rachel loves music (she plays flute and guitar) and she also like to draw and paint. She enjoys basketball, yoga, and she loves to read Sci-Fi and Fantasy fiction as well as play board games.
