Give Online

When you give at Harvest Christian Church, you become part of something bigger than yourself – you help build God’s kingdom here on earth – in countless ways.  Thank You for giving generously to what God is doing in our world through the church family at Harvest.

All that we have comes from God; He is generous and merciful to each one of us.  When we give back to God what belongs to Him, we align our hearts with His and the work He is doing through the local and global church.  Jesus says in Matthew 5:21 “For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.”  God desires the hearts of His people, and one of the best ways we show God He has our heart is through being obedient in the act of tithing.

Change for a Dollar is an exciting Benevolence Program at Harvest in which we are able to help out those in need, both in the community and in our own church body. Read More.

Q: Is online giving still an act of worship?”

Yes.  Although it means a different method of giving (other than giving at a worship service), your attitude and motives should be the same…it is still an act of worship. Giving cheerfully and sacrificially of our finances is part of our worship.

Q: What is the difference between one-time and recurring giving?”

With a recurring gift, you indicate how often you want to make the contribution (weekly, monthly, etc), and the amount of each contribution and to which ministries fund.  With either a one-time or recurring gift, you can choose to use either a debit/credit card or have the contribution deducted from your checking account.

Q: Is there an advantage to online giving?”

It simplifies your life.  It saves time.  it saves work.  It ensure continuity and consistency with your giving.  You can even give when you are out of town.  You can print your giving receipt, and access previous transactions for your records.

Q: What is the difference between a “tithe“ and an “offering“?

God asks that we trust him with the first 10% of our income and resources. This is called a “tithe,” and scriptures tell us it belongs to God (Genesis 28:20-22, 2 Chronicles 31:5-12, Proverbs 3:9-10, Malachi 3:8-10)

Offerings are special gifts, beyond the tithe, that express gratitude for God’s goodness in our lives.  Paul gives instruction about offering in 2 Corinthians 8-9.  He says in 8:12, “For if the willingness is there, the gift is acceptable according to what one has, not according to what one does not have.”  In 2 Corinthians 9:6-9, it says we will be rewarded according to our generosity and that we should give joyfully from a willing heart.  The outcome of generous giving is that God receives praise and we receive blessing.

Although the tithes and offerings according to scripture truly bless us individually, ultimately, the gift is blessing the community and the world through the local church.  Harvest Christian Church does its very best to be good stewards of the money that is collected.

Q: Where does my money go?

Cross-cultural missions is a big part of who we are. 12% of our regular giving goes to these missions.

Your giving also goes to help fund the day-to-day operating expenses of the church, the facilities, and the salaries of the staff.  Your contributions fund the mission of Harvest and support the many different ministries that evangelize and disciple those within the church and the community of Troutdale.

Q: Why do I see TouchPoint? (Harvest’s Online Resource)”
