Ah, summer. I remember being a teenager and looking forward to getting out of school, that way I could have the freedom to do what I wanted to do during the day. And by that, I mean I had every intention of playing video games, www.casinodames.com games and watching TV for three months straight.
Any of you parents out there having similar troubles getting your teen out this summer?
Well, the good news is that The Refuge has a full calendar out this summer, with plenty for your student to do.
Every Monday is Ultimate Monday. We meet at the Imagination Station at Reynolds High School at 11am, and play some sports until around 1:30. Then, we make our way back to the church and play tabletop board games until 5.
But it’s not just Mondays. We also have monthly service projects that we’re making available to our students. We’ll be at the Oregon Food Bank, Nightstrike, and right here at Harvest, serving others and having a great time.
Make sure to mark your calendars in August, because we have both our middle school and high school camps that month. Both CIY’s Move and Wi Ne Ma are high energy, faith based camps that are also tons of fun. Move this year will challenge high schoolers to be Kingdom Workers, to make a difference in this world for Christ. Wi Ne Ma will show middle schoolers how to be Olympians of the faith, how to run the race of faith as Paul calls us to do. Registrations are available now [click here and scroll to the bottom of the page] , as well as several fund raising opportunities.
All of this and more are going on this summer, so there’s ample opportunity to get your student away from the screen and out and about. Make sure you come by our info booth and grab a summer calendar and camp registrations. We’re excited for this summer, and we hope your students are, too!
