“LIFE OR DEATH?” (The Rich Man and Lazarus: Luke 16:19-31) – July 30, 2023

1. The reality we all face: Life or death? (Ps. 44:20-21)
2. Three important things to remember.
   1. No second chances for salvation after death.
   2. God’s Word is more than sufficient.
   3. Hell is a real place, but so is Heaven.

• 16:19-21: Lazarus has a name.

1. 16:22-23: A clear contrast.
2. 16:24: “Rich Man” hasn’t changed.
3. 16:25-26: The “great chasm has been fixed” (1 Co. 15:54-57)

• 16:27-31: “They have Moses and the Prophets…”
  1. The Gospel + anything is heresy.
  2. The “light” is already here. (Jn. 3:19-21; Heb. 4:12)
• “Consider your ways.” (Hag. 1:4-7)
