Harvest Student Ministries is hosting a 5K Fundraiser that is open to the church and community to participate in! This event is a great opportunity to push yourself, or simply go on an enjoyable walk while supporting our students going to summer camp!
In every facet of Church, we want Harvest to thrive in its role as the local church for the community of Troutdale and beyond, and you are a part of it. No Church is perfect, but at Harvest we desire to be faithful and true to God’s design. And our hope is that we can do this through the city outreach that serves as one of our five core values.
Christ-centered community is about a movement toward Jesus, wherever we might find ourselves. We might feel lost, or on the outside of any seemingly set boundary lines having to do with Church and Christianity, but we are not, and we never will be, again, because when we choose to make Jesus Christ the Lord and Savior of our lives, this messy community we become a part of is rock-solid.
In summary, without grace we are not the church.
It is as nonsensical as a book club that doesn’t read or a band without instruments. A church community that exemplifies grace is one that prioritizes the need for confession and forgiveness, just as Jesus called His followers to display.
Loneliness is a real problem in the world, and Americans are among the most lonely people on the planet. Through technology we are “connected” more than ever before, and yet we experience less community. People seem to be craving community now more than ever before. There is a part of us that recognizes that we were created for community.
But this realization doesn't end there. This also shows how vital community itself is. If we remember back to the Last Supper, where communion was established, we don't see Jesus alone, we see men sitting together and supporting one another in a time of upheaval.
The Women’s Ministry Team at Harvest works diligently to provide opportunities for connecting in fellowship throughout the year, culminating in our biggest event of the year, our destination retreat.
